YURA. REAL POWER.

It´s funny how, among artists, the power art represents is such a strong topic; being able to express oneself and share one's feelings with just a ‘simple’ song could be considered a power. I think it´s the closest feeling to daydreaming and  an extension of our own words. That´s music.

Music is power but, in this particular case, ladies and gents, we have the strongest example with YURA MARAKOV proving that he is power in its purest state.

Now, just know, now as you’re reading this, try to empty your mind of any thoughts and, just for a moment, reset yourselves. Got it? OK then, here we go:

Kiev, Ukraine’s capital, located in the south Eastern part of Europe and with an approximate population of 3 million inhabitants. That´s where Yura was born and, apparently, he would be just one more person amongst all that crowd.

Apparently.

Yura has always been a very determined, strong, confident , quiet person with such a strong will to achieve his goals that, if he wanted to, he could move mountains.

When you first meet him, you are impressed by his grown up, adult man appearance but when you realize he’s just turned 23 you cannot believe your eyes.

He was brought up in a very different way, compared to the rest of his friends. While everybody used to listen to the typical seasonal radio dance beats, he would sing along  to Michael Jackson’s tunes, timeless ballads by Lionel Richie or the impossible four voiced harmonies of BoyzIIMen. He had in mind the type of music that would define his style ever since then and that type of music  would accompany him everywhere he’d go. Forever.

Yura didn’t want to miss the chance to fulfil his plan of making his dreams come true and, as determined as he was, he decided to take singing, piano, jazz and harmonies lessons to, finally, end up learning a little bit of musical arrangements on the side.

He knew what he wanted, how he wanted it and he learned to do it.

During one of his regular trips to Spain he discovered the “Creative music School” and decided to become one of its students. Yura currently combines his first studio album with his work in the “Black Light Gospel Choir”.

Yura met Jake (Aftershock-Records) through common friends, one thing led to another and, finally, Yura decided to give a go to Aftershock Records and his first single “Real Power” came to life. Not too long after that, the song got  its own video.

Each tune Yura sings is timeless, personal and strong. I invite you to get to know him and don’t miss the chance to
buy his first song by clicking here.

You’re witnessing the birth of a new pop star. We know it. You will see it.

David POP - 200% hunger for life

David García´s mother missed the 1985 Christmas lotto because she was way too busy spreading her own good luck in the hospital; bringing her child into the world. David, couldn´t have come to life any other way than in such a remarkable date and with a huge smile on his face. I can imagine it right now while typing this.

Little did she know that, twenty five (almost twenty six) years later, her contribution to the world would make such a big noise.

David was never a normal boy. During his childhood he was blessed with so much love, care and music that he could charge an iPod to last for a couple of lifetimes. He´s walked the streets as if  in a continuous video shoot where everybody was happy and he could be himself 24/7.

Music has always been  the notepad where David sketched the scheme of his life, it has always helped him take the most important chances of his life, some of which would change things forever.

Not long after he could barely stand on his own two, he started recording and listening to music with his first Fisher Price radio with microphone. Some presents change lives and I bet my neck David owes a lot to that one.

He never missed a chance to take part in all the theatrical plays and musicals from his school, as well as collaborating with local radio stations and, to sum up, David never missed the chance to spread his positivity and passion for music.

If that Fisher Price meant a starting point in his life, the day he got to see, by the hand of the famous radio host Tony Aguilar, the studios of Cadena Cuarenta in the 32th of Gran Vía Street, Madrid really helped him find his path and calling. .. (I have been there and, hell yeah, they are breathtaking!).

David, determined to focus his carreer towards the hard radio industry, started taking speechs and language courses until, by the age of fifteen (yeah, you got that right, FIFTEEN), when  he started professionally collaborating in local radio stations. I would pay to see the face of that grown up man trying to help a kid to reach the mic and, five minutes after that, biting the dust to his amazing gift. Must be and interesting take to watch, as in a movie.

David, with his eagerness to interact with as many people as posible, turned into a total (almost professional) community manager and that, mixed with his radio appearances, was a total media nuclear bomb. His first Fotolog account was one of the most visited and he currently banks on a thousand Twitter and Facebook followers and friends.

David´s story was heading in the right direction until, one day, his health took a turn for the worse. Fortunately for him, it was not too late to overcome it.

David, instead of breaking down and surrendering, sat on a desk face-to-face with his problem and said "Hi, I'm David... you still don't know me but you'd better believe this time you're not taking me with you. I am afraid you have come all the way here to go back with empty hands but I still have a lot of living to do and nobody, nor even you, is going to stop me".

Full of dreams and with all the love from his mother (one of his main pillars) and with an entire army of friends giving back all the love they once got from him, faced such a hard situation to, finally, get over it. David said that one of his main weapons to fight such a dangerous opponent was the power music gave to him.

That’s when David met Jake, from Aftershock-Records, and told him "Look, Jake, I have no idea of what life’s got in store for me or if I´m going to make it longer than what I expected or not but, now that I’ve been through this, I have turned into a new man and I need to live each day like it´s the last and, for once in my life, not be the one who plays the songs but the one who
sings them. Jake, I need you to write a song for me about how music is my power."

Jake wrote the song in the blink of an eye and it was titled Music is Power. David POP was officially born and he was not even aware of how big of a deal that was going to be. He just wanted to make one of his dreams come true and he stepped into stardom almost overnight.

Since then, that song has spread through the internet like fire over gasoline. It reached #2 in iTunes Spain and broke into the most important Spanish hit list of all, Promusicae. But the best was yet to come:

Mass audiences and national t.v. performances, opening shows for singers such as Soraya Arnelas and his own professional music video. "Music is power" is currently sounding in major radio stations and all this with just the support of his devoted fans/friends and Aftershock Records.

David is currently recovering from his personal battle but at the same time, is getting ready for his next single: LIFE. A song that is going to be a hymn for all those who love LIFE and the joy of living each day like it’s the last. A very interesting lesson to learn, thanks David!

David Pop is not just a particular, husky voice. David Pop is the best example of how much eagerness for living and being happy can overcome anything.

In this world there is a huge lack of people who truly
LOVE what they do.

David Pop is one of them, and this is just the beginning of his story.
